Food Stories
Wednesday, January 18, 2012 All food has a story. Some of the stories are interesting, compelling and inspirational. Others are horrifying and, in other ways, inspirational. And most of the stories fall between these two extremes.
One of my favorite horrifying things is a blog written by Bruce Bradley. You can check it out here. Bruce does a great job of explaining the food you see in most grocery stores in the United States. He spent a good part of his career working for Big Food.
The interesting, compelling and inspirational stories, for me, generally involve food artisans dedicated to producing pure food. They are farmers of many things who want to produce the best product possible. And they are writers, like my friend Tom Mueller who just published a book titled "Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil". And they are people who curate great food, like Marco Bonaldo of Galateo & Friends in San Remo, Italy.
These stories, and many more, are what I want to share with my readers and friends. There is a lot to share.
